Six California Gold Plated Tokens on Fob + Box. Rare jewelry/medal/charm/bar/lot

Wow! We are happy to offer this splendid California Gold Token Fob for your consideration. It is set with six lovely gold plated California Gold tokens. This fob comes with its original paper box. All pieces in this lot are over a century old and in attractive condition. What a rare and original find this set is!
The watch fob is believed to have been handcrafted in the early 20th century. It is made of gold plated copper and/or bronze. Piece measures about four inches long. The total weight of this lovely item is 5.15 grams.
The top five tokens are catalogued by Mike Locke as Round 1858 California Gold 1/2 tokens. They have Indian #2 obverses and Wreath #5 reverses. All five pieces are examples of the COLD reverse variety. All are gold plated and date from the late 19th century.
The bottom piece is a beautiful 1850 dated California Gold One token. It has an unlisted Minerva Head obverse with a Bear #2 reverse. I own a unique piece which has this die pairing but is struck with defaced dies. That piece tests to 10 karat gold or better. This piece looks to be composed of gold plated metal or perhaps low karat gold. Issue is backdated and is believed to have been struck in the early twentieth century. It is similar to the M.E. Hart issues struck circa 1914 but is less refined. This particular Minerva variety is seldom seen and appears to be a scarce type.
The paper jewelry box was issued by the William Stolz company and dates from the early 20th century. Our reasearch shows this business was registered in 1903. The deep green box is printed with the maker's crest. It appears to be constructed of linen, hard paper and natural cotton. This box is crisp and pristine and a rare find in and of itself!
The tokens and swivel bail are in nice circulated condition. Fob is very attractive with great detail and color. The loop and links are sturdy with a bit of wear and toning. One token shows a spot of toned solder on the obverse. Box displays vibrant color and choice surfaces. What an interesting and beautiful set this is!
