Schreiber & Sohne "Professional Model" Bassoon

Description

This auction is for a Schreiber & Sohne "Professional Model" wooden bassoon. According to a variety of online sources, the serial of 15*** places it somewhere in the mid-1970s. Schreiber no longer makes a "Professional Model" instrument, but this instrument is equivalent to their S71 model.
The bassoon, as demonstrated in the attached video, plays with a fantastic sound from Low Bb up to High D and beyond, but the auction winner may desire to have further work done on the instrument to quiet the keys and improve the overall action.
***Please note, there is one piece of functional damage which is that this instrument does not have a ring from which to attach a neck strap. If you play the instrument standing, you will need to have it repaired to do so.***
The bassoon is in poor cosmetic condition. It appears to be a former school instrument and is correspondingly well worn, with key plating worn away in many places, lacquer worn away, nicks and scratches in the wood, and other cosmetic issues. I have tried to show as much as I can, but this instrument is in no way a showpiece visually.

Not included are the reed used to make the demonstration video or the instrument stand featured in the pictures.
This is an excellent-playing bassoon that would be a great fit for someone looking to get as much bassoon for their budget as possible, and does not have concerns about appearance!
