Now available at NEXUSWOODWIND is a Rieger 1a  Bassoon shaper.  This shape is by far the most popular shape worldwide and is also, by far, the shape most requested shape from customers who want my custom shaped cane.  This shape is used extensively by professionals but is also ideal for developing bassoonists as it is quite "middle of the road".
With the help of the legendary Chip Owen, (40 years manager of development at FOX products...now retired) I was able to get the exact specs from 3 pieces of unused Rieger 1a cane processed at their factory in Germany
This newly manufactured shaper is the first of a new line of flat shapers that I will be offering.
All shapers will  have a new
proprietary hard coating
that will greatly minimize knife damage when shaping.
