Antique Patent Applied For Palco Worcester Pressed Aluminum Co. Canteen Wonderful Pre-WW1 old Palco aluminum canteen. The company manufactured aluminum canteens and mess kits for the United States military and the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America. The patent for their aluminum canteen was issued May 4, 1915, and the company itself was not incorporated until September 5, 1919. Embossed in center: "Palco, Worcester Mass, Patent Appl'd For. Stopper reads" A. Schrader's Son, Inc., NY Pat. Mar. 27 '06 and Oct 27 '08- Also Pat. in Australia, Austria, France, Germany, GT. Britain, Japan and Russia." Palco Canteens were a common military-issued item in World War 1. Measures 7 5/8" o.d.
