    Description

New to the ever expanding inventory of NEXUSWOODWIND will now be a line of custom shapers.  Thus....now available at NEXUSWOODWIND is a  Mechler/Christlieb Narrow shaper.  This shape is has long lineage, dating  back to  the famous bassoonist and reed maker Carl Mechler in Germany.  Then to  Frederick Moritz,  for 45 years, principal bassoon of the Los Angeles Philharmonic.  Currently it is most famously used by David McGill, former principal bassoon of the Cleveland Orchestra and Chicago Symphony, Eric Arbiter, 45 years principal and associate principal of the Houston Symphony, and many others.
Using the most modern CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) robotic machinery and measuring devices, these shapers are exact copies of Christlieb  cane .  Made from hard anodized aluminum, these shapers are lightweight and  easy to work with, and now have a proprietary anodization which minimizes damage to the shaper surface from one's knife.
