This custom shape was copied from 5 pieces of FOX #2 cane.    All 5 pieces were scanned using a Laser spectrometer which can measure perimeters down to .0001".  The measurements  were then sent directly to the most modern CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) robotic machinery for replication.
This shape has been a favorite of bassoonists for decades both here in the US and worldwide.  It was also the preferred shape of Gerry Corey, founder of the IDRS
Additionally, a new proprietary  hard anodization process will minimize the amount of knife damage common to other flat shapers.  Plus, the inner and outer edges have been slightly beveled to minimize knife damage even more.
