This is a lampwork, green simulated pearl and gold yellow freshwater cultured pearls necklace. The necklace is about 21" long . The earrings are for pierced ears and are from the top of the hooks 2 5/16" x 11/16".

Lampwork is created by a lamp or torch used to melt many types of glass. Lampwork is an ancient craft and dates back to the 5th century BC. Lampwork was used extensively in Murano Italy since the 14th Century. In  times gone by it  was blown and shaped in its molten state. In modern times  a torch is used. It is used to make beads, ornaments, Christmas decorations and paperweights.
