Antique 19th century, Qing Dynasty, Chinese Shuang Jian Double Sword Hudiedao each Jian sword with hand forged double-edged sturdy Damascus steel blade decorated with seven copper dots, representing the Big Dipper constellation, an important constellation in Taoism. The brass shaped pommel and cross guard decorated with taotie zoomorphic mask with a buffalo horn grip. In its original wooden scabbard covered with beige color Ray skin - Shagreen with brass decorated in openwork and chiseled mounts.
CONDITION: Showing the age and usage, some combat nicks on the edges. Brass mountings with old natural patina. Damascus steel pattern on the blade well visible.

Overall length of the swords sheathed in the scabbard: 67.5 cm (26.57 inches)
Overall length without the scabbard: 58.5 cm (23.03 inches)
