Description
: My photos show everything very well so I'll just give some dimensions: From the bottom of the feet to the top of the burner the stove is about 32", from the top of the burners to the top of the back is about 25", the top shelf is about 10" deep. The stove is about 35" wide & the beautiful dark blue burner tubes are a dark blue and measure about 13 1/2" tall and are 5 1/2" in diameter.
Condition:
The stove is very sound and complete. There aren't any areas that are rusted through (or even close to rusted through)! except that one burner needs a wick (I show one of the existing wicks for reference - they are easy to find on eBay). The front of the upper back of the stove has the original paint and pin stripping, but the bottom section appears to have been cleaned and repainted. The top shelf and top itself have chrome/nickle trim (there is some light rust on the top and back of the chrome). Photos 11 shows the kerosene jar in working position (there is a cover that pivots up to hold the jar in place). Photo 12 shows the bailed jar in the filling position - the cap is spring loaded so that when you place it down in the metal holder, the kerosene is released into the tube that fuels the three burners (note the rust on the metal parts of the jar)!
As you can see in (photo 7, the center burner grate has some small sections broken out, but the grate is still rigid and very usable).
I believe that with a wick installed, the stove would work fine? The inside of the blue burner tubes have some light rust, but they are sound - naturally most of the isinglass that covered the small windows in the burner doors are missing. The burner doors work fine, see photos 4 & 5. The tall blue tops of the burners lift right off at the base. The wick raiser and the bottoms of the burners appear to be copper?
Note:
If you're looking for that final touch to set off your antique decorated kitchen, this should do it! I can remember my Grandma cooking on one like this (but it didn't have the upper back and shelf). It sat just off to the side of her large cast iron range.
