    Description

Here is a very rare and beautiful 1849 California Gold ONE token for sale. This piece was featured in the famous M.E. Hart - Coins of the Golden West series of the early 20th century. ME Hart Gold Coin lists this piece as CIRD-2. It is an R6 rarity with 13 to 30 pieces known.
This dollar token is catalogued by Mike Locke as a Round 1849 California Gold ONE. It features an Indian #1 obverse and a Bear #3 reverse. It is Burnie type 24 and sports a coin turn alignment and a plain edge. This gold piece was produced by the M.E. Hart company circa 1914. These are quite ellusive and desirable!
This tiny gold piece is not denominated and is not legal tender; just a super rare old token. This issue is known to be solid native gold of a 10 Karat (or better) fineness. It weighs 0.76 grams.
This example is very attractive with great detail and lustrous gold color. It has a gleaming uncirculated look. This flashy piece shows signs of use as jewelry on the reverse side. Token displays very light and even toning. What a beautiful and interesting variety this is!
